LSL Network Server Monitor

LSL is pleased to announce the availability of the Network Server Monitor (NSM).  This integrated system allows the monitoring of servers, services, and network services.   All of this information is presented to the user through a simple and concise web interface.

System Description:

The system allows the administrator to define the time interval, system type, service type, and other required information through a secure graphical administration program.   Once defined the system will monitor the server/service and report any down time through the web interface, page administrators, or email information to a list of contacts.

The administrator can define default contact lists for the entire system and have dedicated contacts per system or service being monitored for greater flexibility.

System Interface:

A full blown GUI application running on Windows, Mac OS X, and Linux.   Allows access to all system settings, creating new services to be monitored,  reviewing the status of all services, and  running reports against the database.

Data Storage:

All system data and configuration information is stored in a SQL database on the core monitoring server.  This allows for fast information retrieval, more analysis options, solid backups, and total integration with the various system monitoring components.

Security:

The system is designed with security as the first consideration.  All of the agents are designed to send their data to your central NSM SQL server for storage and analysis.  You don’t have to open firewalls on the servers or expose any ports other than the services you want your users to have, and you want to monitor to make sure they are up!

Complete integrated systems are available with hardware and software.   The system is licensed on a monitored node basis.  With tiers from 5 nodes to 200 nodes and up as follows.

Complete Systems:

Integrated hardware and software Network Server Monitor come complete with a monitoring server appliance.  This provides the core server functionality for the web server, database, monitoring daemons, and editing applications. 

Support Services:

Yearly support contracts are available for 15% of the system price.  Support entails software updates for the system and priority email support.
